Jean Galovich to Employee Benefits Manager at Cook County Department of Risk Management
Jean Galovich recently joined the Cook County Department of Risk Management as Employee Benefits Manager. In this role, she leads the development, implementation and administration of the health, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending and voluntary benefit plans for 23,000 Cook County and Forest Preserve District employees.
Prior to her role at Cook County, Jean’s positions include Consumer Information Officer with the Illinois Department of Insurance; President of HealthMax, Incorporated, a health benefits advocacy firm; Principal in the Human Capital Practice with Mercer in Chicago, Illinois; Director of Human Resources at the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois; and Employment and Compensation Manager at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois.
Jean holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University, a Master of Public Administration Degree from Michigan State University, a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation from the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Certified Compensation Professional designation from World at Work.
